This year at Camp Buffalo we have a brand new shower house that is primarily compliments of North Central Health out of Lafayette, Indiana.
Please be sure we respect the shower house, not leaving the water run or making a mess.
Hours for Scouts are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Adults can use anytime.
Hopefully by this time next year, the new pool will be just to the north of the shower house!
Besides this shower house, there are shower facilities at the Ivey Shower House located near Ivey Lodge along with facilities at Multi Purpose building and at the pool. Showers in Shideler Dining Hall are for adults only.
Where was the first “permanent” shower house at? (scroll down for the answer).
The first permanent shower facaility was located west of the MultiPurpose Building on the trail that leads to north of Raincrow camp site. Remember originally all the camp sites were located on this side of the creek. It was an open top block building painted a pinkish red color. I believe if you walkt down that trail just a bit and look to your right, you can still see the foundation/floor of that shower house. Why was the shower house (like the pool one) open to the sun? Well the sun naturally keeps down the growth of mold!
